Who is a learning disability care home for?

Learning disability care homes are often small in size as residents’ needs tend to be high, meaning they require frequent care, support and supervision.

Despite their smaller size, they are purposely designed for disabled people with specialist facilities such as sensory rooms. They also give people with disabilities opportunities to socialise and form friendships.

The aim is to support each resident to lead a fulfilling, happy life regardless of the challenges they face.

People who live in our care homes for people with learning disabilities may have one or more of the following conditions:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Asperger’s Syndrome
  • Down’s Syndrome
  • Williams Syndrome
  • Rett Syndrome
  • Prader-Willi Syndrome
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Tourette’s Syndrome
  • Brain injury

Our values and promises to you

We are guided by a common set of values – our philosophy of care is guided by our core values of commitment, empathy and learning.

Commitment

We are committed to providing those in our care, our full attention by offering them a range of realistic options and choices about the support available to them.

Empathy

We strive to understand the needs and wishes of every individual; including service users, their loved ones, our colleagues and clients.

Learning

We promote the highest standards of professional skills, encourage continuous learning, actively seek feedback and always strive to get better at what we do.

“Our mission is to provide the highest quality of care and lead the field in customer service through committed individuals who realise their day to day contributions are valued and lead to a collective success.”

“To deliver quality, safe & caring services to those who need it, enriching their lives to enable independence”

Homecare is a superb choice for those who still want to live in their own home but still need some help with those tasks that are a little out of reach. There are times when you or a loved one may need a little extra support. Whether it’s helping with household tasks, personal care, medication or mobility. A dedicated care worker or personal assistant can be there to provide you the peace of mind that you need. You can arrange daily or weekly visits at times that suit you or your loved one.

We personally get to know each and everyone of our clients. Your care plan will be tailored to you and your specific needs including all your likes and dislikes so that everything is the way that YOU want it.

Each carer is trained to provide personal care in a way that is discreet and respectful of your personal boundaries. They undertake extensive training where they learn the importance of keeping your dignity and independence at all times.

Even though carers are trained to provide all aspects of personal care, there may be some things you’d prefer to do for yourself. A good carer will always give you space when you want it and encourage your independence wherever they can.

CQC Report

We carried out this inspection under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. This inspection was planned to check whether the provider is meeting the legal requirements and regulations associated with the Health and Social Care Act 2008, to look at the overall quality of the service, and to provide a rating for the service under the Care Act 2014.

Care Quality Commission Report

Before the inspection, we reviewed information we held about the service, which included notifications the provider had sent us. A notification is information about important events which the provider is required to send us by law. We also contacted the commissioners of the service and the local Healthwatch (an independent consumer champion for health and social care) to obtain their views about the care provided by the service.
